Tzolkin

Tzolkin is the 260-day sacred calendar of the Maya. It is composed of a cycle of twenty days in cycle of thirteen. It is one of the component parts of the Maya calendar.

The twenty day names used in Maya calendrics are (in Yucatec Maya language),

Imix, Ik, Akbal, Kan, Chicchan, Cimi, Manik, Lama, Muluc, Oc, Chuen, Eb, Ben, Ix, Men, Cib, Cabab, Eznab, Cauac, Ahau.

  • 1 Imix is the first day of the Tzolkin.

  • 5 Chicchan
  • 6 Cimi
  • 7 Manik
  • 8 Lama
  • 9 Muluc
  • 10 Oc
