The Lady Chablis, born Benjamin Edward Knox in 1957, is a transgendered drag queen. She was brought to wide public attention when she figured as one of Savannah's colorful characters in John Berendt 's novel Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.
She then played herself in the movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Kevin Spacey and John Cusack. This was followed by a rapid tour of talk shows and the purchase of Club One in Savannah where she still performs regularly.
Her autobiography is titled Hiding My Candy.
