Terry Bisson

Terry Ballantine Bisson (born February 12, 1942) is an American science fiction and fantasy author. He is best known for his short stories, including "Bears Discover Fire" (1990), which won both the Hugo and Nebula awards, but has also written several novels, including Voyage to the Red Planet (Morrow, 1990), Pirates of the Universe (Tor, 1996) and The Pickup Artist (Tor, 2001).

Bisson was born in Owensboro, Kentucky. He graduated from the University of Louisville in 1964 and currently lives in Oakland, California.
