The Tel Aviv Central Bus Station is the main bus station located in Tel Aviv, Israel. It is in South Tel Aviv. It serves Egged, Dan, and Connex intercity bus routes as well as local Dan city and suburban buses. It is the largest central bus station in the world..
The built area is 230,000 m² and total area is 44 dunams (44,000 m²). The construction began December 14, 1967 but was stopped. After a great deal of years it was decided to finally open the station, whose construction was completed August 18, 1993. Lately there was an idea to even expand it. According to the original plan, a 10 story office building was to built above it. The building is also a mall with many stores and restaurants. It is like a maze or a bazaar and it is hard to find your way around. The building contains 7 floors, 29 escalators, 13 fast elevators, and more than 1,000 shops. The intercity buses leave from a departure hall on one floor and the local buses leave on two other floors.
The Tel Aviv Central Bus Station is located near the Tel Aviv HaHaganah Train Station.
