Said Musa

Said Wilbert Musa (born March 19, 1944) is Prime Minister of Belize since 1998.

Said Musa was born in San Ignacio Cayo of Palestinian descent. After preliminary education in Belize (then British Honduras) he studied law at the University of Manchester in England, receiving an Honours Degree in Law in 1966. He returned to Belize the following year, serving as magistrate and crown counsel, and then going into private practice. He joined the pro-independence People's United Party (PUP), then under George Cadle Price, and served in Price's governments in various capacities, and helped draft Belize's new constitution in 1981.

Said Musa took over leadership of the PUP in 1996. He was elected Prime Minister of Belize in 1998 and again in 2003. He was also foreign minister of Belize from 1998 until 2002. He attended his inauguration in jeans and a t-shirt and it is common knowledge among Belizeans that he has a mistress.
