Profile

Career

René became a professional wrestler in 1997 at age 14, he began working for Grand Prix Wrestling . In 2001, he won the Mr. Canada Bodybuilding National Championship. That same year, he signed a developmental contract with WWE and was sent to Ohio Valley Wrestling to gain seasoning.

In 2003 he debuted in WWE on WWE RAW alongside fellow Canadian wrestler Sylvain Grenier forming a stuck-up French tag team called La Résistance. He soon became the World Tag-Team Champion with Sylvain Grenier making him the youngest champion in WWE history. After Wrestlemania XX, Duprée was selected to move from RAW to WWE's Smackdown! brand. It is then that he started using his current finisher, the Dupree Driver, a sit-out belly-to-belly piledriver.

He also won the WWE Tag-Team Championship along with Kenzo Suzuki on September 9, 2004 but then lost the championship on the December 9, 2004 edition of SmackDown! to Rob Van Dam and Rey Mysterio. They had a rematch at Armageddon 2004 but lost.

On the March 24 2005 airing of SmackDown!, he was "sacrificed" by the The Undertaker as a message to Randy Orton (regarding their match at WrestleMania 21), when The Undertaker interrupted a match between Rene Dupree and Booker T. The result of the "sacrifice" saw Rene tombstone piledriven on the steel steps which lead up to the ring.
