• the name of a village and a town in New York;
• the name of a place in Ontario;
• an island in the Florida Keys;
• until 1990, the name in the United Kingdom for a Snickers bar;
• a computer game;
• The name of an oil company;
• The Greek word (μάραθον) for fennel;
• a marathon on television is when number of episodes of a television series, or movies linked by a theme, are broadcast back to back. For example a station might have a Star Trek marathon or Robert De Niro marathon.
