Fusient Media Ventures is a venture capital group that collaborated with WCW's Eric Bischoff in an attempt to buy the failing wrestling company. However, after the AOL Time Warner merger and new Turner management decided wrestling was not "upscale" enough for its intended audience, WCW lost its TV deal with Turner and Fusient backed out.
WCW was then sold to WWF/WWE owner Vince McMahon, who shut down the company save for the failed "Invasion" angle, bought some, but not all, of the contracts of their talent and generally buried most of its competitors, with the possible exception of Bill Goldberg who went to the WWE as his Time Warner contract had expired.
The people who ran the group were also responsible for such other successful ventures as Classic Sports which was later purchased by ESPN.
