Fly-by

A fly-by is the term used to describe the event where a collection of planes, usually military or ex-military, parade over an event on the ground as a display of respect, a public relations gesture, or (usually) both.

The ground event is often either a nationally-televised professional sporting event (usually football or baseball), or an air show.
