Book TV is a weekend program on upcoming and established authors broadcast by C-SPAN on the C-SPAN 2 channel. It usually is shown during the weekend but is also broadcast during congressional breaks when the normal coverage of the United States House of Representatives and Senate is no longer necessary.
Book TV covers a wide array of subjects. The majority of content is about political subjects in keeping with its C-SPAN origin, but it also features numerous scientific, artistic and cultural books.
One of the most notable programs it runs is called In Depth. In Depth is a three hour interview that covers the author's entire body of work. Former guests have included Noam Chomsky, Niall Ferguson, Stanley Crouch, and John Keegan.
