Sigh! My mother in law

After some discussion in our chatroom yesterday, thanks to Mommie Foong and Angie, I've decided to put up this new forum category.

Yes, go ahead and rant and let off steam...but remember it can be read by anyone who signs up at Singaporemoms...so try to be a little discreet :P

Also, the main reason I put this up is so that we can ALL learn from this - ie: how to avoid conflict, develop a healthy respect for our in laws, and also, not repeat the same mistakes when it's our turn to become Mothers-in-law!

Hate to rub it in for some of you but I still think I have a wonderful mother-in-law.
We always say that when it is our turn, things will be different but it is not like that. I know for a fact that my mother had a hard time with my grandmother. Now my mum has problems with both my brothers' wives. Don't really know who is rite or wrong but I feel that both sides should compromise. I can see both my brothers trying their best to act as buffers and coping very badly.
I would definitely not want my hubby to go thru such things. I know that my hubby also try to make things easier for me with his mum and shows a lot of respect for mine. It works both ways.

You poor girl. It is tough if you have to deal with both instead of one. Guess your hubby must be either the only son, youngest or oldest. And a filial one as well, quite rare in this day and age.
Look on the bright side and stay cheerful, cannot go wrong with that.

Hmm...sounds interesting...perhaps forum for mums to gripe about their hubbies - so that their hubbies can read this and learn not to make the same mistakes over again!

ok...I'll start one!
