Underwear incident

Used to be a working mum, but since Jan this year I "took back" the ownership of my 3 years old son. Ever since from the day, I look after my son, my mother in law will try her means and ways to impose her "values" on child rearing on me!!!
How I cook my meals for my boy lah, how i should shower him and how I should educate him etc..
Really a pain in my neck. She even told me crap thing like I must not wash my hubby's underwear with mine together, reason being it is no gd for his career!! yah,now my hubby is the sole bread winner of the family and i am a stay home mum... But I hve been doing that for the past 5 yrs so does that mean I need to back wash all his son's underwear? :(

Hi Bee Leng,

I truly understand how you felt. My mother-in-law starts her values before I moved in with my husband to our new flat. She also tell me not to wash my husband's clothes and undergarments together with mine too.

Well, for my point of view. Undergarments I won't mix together due to hygiene purposes. But I just mixed our clothes to wash according to colours.

But reason for not good for career? I don't believe in such craps. keke.

MIL are always a pain in the a** but since we've decide to choose their son as our hubby we cant do anything much but to tolerate them. I guess most MILs like to interfere with our life ..

But i also wont wash my underwear with hubby's de cos we woman do come menses so it isnt that hygiene to wash together. But as for clothes i'll juz throw all into the washing machine =)

Bottom line, juz ignore what ur MIL says. Son is urs, u have the final talk .. Take care ^.~

Hi Bee Ling!

I have only one advise for you - don't argue with her BUT ignore her! After a while she will give up telling you what to do.

Fyi, I too wash clothes and underwear together. My parents did that too. In fact when I father did the washing, he too dumped all the undergarments with the clothes (both parents' clothes) together. I asked him why he never separate his and my mother's clothes. He said, All the same - dirty clothes. Separate for what? Waste time and money (water). ;)
